Sure Maritime Travel at World travel Market Africa!

World Travel Market Africa – 2-3 May 2014

World Travel Market has been represented in Africa for the first time.   The Cape Town ICC hosted a hugely successful event, that is set to be the leading Travel exhibition, for both inbound and outbound travel markets, representing the entire African continent.

Sure Maritime Travel was very well represented at the event.  Our full page corporate advertisement featured in the WTM Africa show magazine, the only Corporate Travel agency to do so.  Two representatives travelled to Cape Town for the show,  Marissa Klue and Rachael Penaluna walked the floors for hours!

Says Marissa “it was incredible to see all those travel people in one place.  We talked to many different operators and representatives and gleaned so much information and many useful contacts”.

The show content was the best feature of the event.  “it seems that almost all of the exhibitors and indeed, the buyers, were relevant to our business”, said Rachael. “I cannot think of one we saw and spoke to, that would not contribute to our Corporate, Leisure, inbound or outbound clientele.  The content of the operators, the knowledge of the people working on the stands and the brochures they provided, were rich in content, a most satisfactory result, for two days work”.

“Being able to network with suppliers from other countries was fantastic.  Pre-booking  diary appointments, with representatives from countries we wanted to know more about was key.  I was able to prepare for the event before it happened and make sure that we did not waste valuable time.  We went  directly to the suppliers, countries, operators, that we knew would be useful for our consultants and to our clients”.

Says Rachael,  “our feedback from World Travel Market Africa, will be used as a valuable marketing tool for Sure Maritime Travel.  We will get as much mileage as we possibly can, from the contacts we have made and the exposure we get from our editorials and advertising.  We will share as much information as we can, and make use of people we made contact with while we were there”.

Adds Rachael, “I think it adds to the credibility of our business, that Sure Maritime travel was represented at the show.  This kind of exhibition is of great relevance to the African travel market and I hope it will serve as a catalyst to bring the continent together, in the travel environment.  Each and every country has a unique offering, and emerging economies and governments would do well to pay attention to the fabulous people that represent one of the most valuable resources this continent has to offer – tourism.”
